Taking a visit to Brighton would have spurred on a meal of fish’n'chips, however I was taken to a Japanese conveyor belt sushi bar called Moshi Moshi. I’m divided on whether that was a good idea, but let’s continue about the review itself.

Moshi Moshi’s interior is impressive, in front of the Brighton Council’s building and looking very much like a DIY box from Ikea. On a warm day like Saturday, it was highly convenient that their front windows were panes which were slided along to make space for ventilation.
There were 6 of us, and we were originally offered a table of six with the inside two being next to the conveyor belt, which I thought was a reasonable as it encouraged socializing – you know, what the human race was born to do. But others in the party thought it was better to sit at the bar so we could reach the sushi better…
The sushi at Moshi Moshi was fresh, in that they made the sushi in front of you, so the little colour coded plates were mostly very appetizing, although you questioned whether some of them were worth the 2.70, 3.20, 3.70 prices at the higher end of the price range.
Me and a friend ordered a Temaki set and a Stamina set plus four sushi dishes from the belt.. although now thinking about it, it was a bad decision since he was a guy and I probably ended up paying more than I should have had I just eaten what I wanted alone. I ended up paying 17pounds including drinks (which was this murky Iced Green Tea which was essentially Matcha powder in water – do they not know that Matcha is very non-flavoursome and should only be used in cooking?)
So overall (you can tell that I’m getting more unimpressed the more I think about it, thus the lack of details), it’s a good restaurant (or box) to have dinner, but I wouldn’t dine there if you were slightly on the hungry side as the prices do add up. There’s a reason why conveyor belts exist, and that’s to tempt the money out of your purses. Now, that’s the reason why I don’t conveyor-belt it usually, unless I’m in Hong Kong, because at least the green tea is free and refilled!
